OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE, PAYMENT, OR OBLIGATION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. All entries have an equal chance of winning, regardless of method of submission and purchase and/or payment will not increase your chance of winning.

1) HOW TO ENTER:The HSBC “Click to Win” Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 12:01 AM (ET) on January 28, 2008 and ends at 11:59 PM (ET) on April 28, 2008 (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion Period consists of three (3) “Entry Months” as outlined in the Entry Chart below and the Monthly Prizes will be awarded for each Entry Month. The Grand Prize will then be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received for all Entry Months. There are three (3) ways to enter the Sweepstakes, by utilizing HSBC Finance Corporation (“Sponsor”) online services at hfc.com, beneficial.com, and/or hsbcmortgageservices.com (collectively “Online”), by contacting Sponsor Customer Service and by U.S. Mail.

How to Enter Online: You may earn entries Online as follows:

a. Registration: Eligible account holders who register their account online at hfc.com, beneficial.com, or hsbcmortgageservices.com (depending on account type) during the Promotion Period will automatically earn fifteen (15) entries into the Sweepstakes. Current eligible account holders who have previously registered online as of January 28, 2008 will automatically receive fifteen (15) entries. Each eligible account not previously registered online as of January 28, 2008 may only be registered online once. Subsequent attempts to register the same account online will not qualify for entry.

b. Loan Payment: Eligible account holders who complete a loan payment using the online payment feature of hfc.com, beneficial.com, or hsbcmortgageservices.com will receive one (1) entry. Loan payments must be initiated by entrant. Payments initiated via Automatic Payment feature of participating sites (if applicable) will not qualify for entry. Limit: three (3) Loan Payments per eligible account per Entry Month.

c. E-Mail Reminders: Opt-in to receive e-mail reminders for eligible accounts on hfc.com, beneficial.com, or hsbcmortgageservices.com. Eligible e-mail reminders include “Payment Due”, “Payment Past Due” and “Statement is Ready” (not available on hsbcmortgageservices.com) e-mail reminders. You will receive one (1) entry for each online e-mail reminder you opt-in to receive (up to three (3) maximum). Entries will be eligible for the Entry Month for which they are received and for subsequent Entry Months in which the entrant remains enrolled to receive the e-mail reminders that earned the original entry or entries.

d. Access 1098 information: Access 1098 information for an eligible account on hfc.com or beneficial.com during the Promotion Period to receive one (1) entry into the sweepstakes. Limit two (2) entries per Entry Month by accessing 1098 Information.

e. Check Services: You will automatically receive one (1) entry when you complete an online hfc.com or beneficial.com “Order Checks” or “Stop Check” transaction on revolving eligible accounts during the Promotion Period. Limit one (1) entry per Check Service request (“Order Check” and “Stop Check”) permitted for the entire Promotion Period.

How to enter by Contacting Customer Service: Eligible account holders who have not yet registered their accounts online may obtain five (5) entries by contacting the appropriate Customer Service telephone contact for their eligible Accounts and providing a valid e-mail address. Account Holders may obtain the Customer Service telephone number by referencing their Statement or online at hfc.com, beneficial.com, or hsbcmortgageservices.com.

How to enter by U.S. Mail: Print your name, address, city, state, zip, phone number and email address (if any) on a 3½”x5” piece of paper, insert in an envelope, affix postage and mail to: The HSBC Click To Win Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 4131, Grand Rapids, MN 55730-4131. Each eligible Mail-In entry will be considered five (5) entries for the Entry Month for which it was received and for the Grand Prize Drawing.

All entries must be received, and Mail-in entries must be postmarked and received by the dates indicated in the Entry Chart below to be eligible for each respective drawing.

The maximum number of entries you may receive is twenty five (25) per person per Entry Month and may be obtained by any combination of available entry methods. Certain restrictions and Fees may apply with Online entry methods. Transactions not described above do not qualify for entry. Incomplete entries are void. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. This information (entries) will be used only by Sponsor and affiliate Companies; it will not be shared with other parties.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on who submitted a particular entry, such entry will be deemed to be submitted by the Primary Account Holder of the Sponsor account in question.

2) WINNER SELECTION/DEADLINE DATES:

Random drawings to award the Monthly Prizes will be conducted from among all eligible entries received according to the Entry Chart below. Entries will be eligible for the Entry Month for which they are received only, however all eligible entries received for any Monthly Prize draw will also be included in the Grand Prize Drawing. A random drawing to award the Grand Prize will be conducted on or about May 7, 2008 from among all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. All random drawings will be conducted under the supervision of an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final on matters relating to this sweepstakes. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received for each respective drawing. Limit one (1) Monthly Prize per person; however, a Monthly Prize winner is still eligible to win the Grand Prize.

*Online Entry Period begins 12:01AM ET on start date of that period and ends at 11:59PM ET on end date of that period.

3) WHO CAN ENTER: This sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. Employees of Sponsor, its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family members (parents, spouse, siblings, children) or anyone who lives in the same household of each (whether related or not) are not eligible. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this promotion. Sponsor reserves right to verify eligibility qualifications of winners.

4) PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded: A six (6) day / five (5) night Royal Caribbean Western Caribbean Cruise for two (2) persons. Includes round trip economy class airfare from major airport closest to winner’s home to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and $1,000 spending money. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of Grand Prize: $3,200. The following Monthly Prizes will be awarded each month: One (1) Monthly First Prize awarded per Entry Month: A Samsung 46" 1080P HD LCD TV. ARV of Monthly First Prize: $2,575. Eight (8) Monthly Second Prizes awarded per Entry Month: An Apple iPod Touch music player. ARV of Monthly Second Prize: $370. Sixteen (16) Monthly Third Prizes awarded per Entry Month: Garmin Nuvi PTA 200 navigation device. ARV of Monthly Third Prize: $262. Seventeen (17) Monthly Fourth Prizes awarded per Entry Month: A Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph Camera. ARV of Monthly Fourth Prize: $217.Total ARV of all prizes: $43,500. Any expenses not explicitly listed herein, including any applicable tax on a prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes will be awarded by e-mail and/or U.S. mail. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or portion thereof with one of equal or greater value if entire prize or a portion of a prize is unavailable. No barter, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except by Sponsor at its sole discretion. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Grand Prize winner must complete travel on dates specified by Sponsor or prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. Travel reservations must be made through Sponsor’s agent, on a carrier of Sponsor’s choice. Other restrictions, conditions, and limitations may apply. Travel companion must travel with winner on same itinerary, and sign Liability and Publicity Releases (unless prohibited by law) prior to issuance of travel documents. If travel companion is under 18 years old, and is not the child of the winner, the companion’s parent or legal guardian will be required to co-sign a travel release. Specifics of prize packages are subject to availability and Sponsor’s sole discretion. Complete terms and conditions of trip will be furnished with prize notification. If a travel prize winner is unable to participate or accept any portion of the prize package for any reason, the Sponsor shall have no further obligation to the winner and guest other than to supply the stated prize minus the refused, unaccepted portion of the prize package. Winner and travel companion are responsible for all required travel documents. Winner and guest are responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) where applicable, at their option, and hereby acknowledge that the Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. All guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty or guarantee claim.

5) GENERAL CONDITIONS: The laws of the United States govern this sweepstakes. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Participation constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and independent judging organization, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein in a timely manner. Winners may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and where legal, Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days following the date of issuance of notification. Non-compliance within this time period or return of any notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and its designees to use winner's name, voice, and picture and other likeness for advertising, promotional and other purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. No more than the quantity of prizes listed in these rules will be awarded. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Sponsor and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies and employees and agents of each (collectively ‘Releasees’) from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any prize won. Releasees are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials; for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate entries or mail, or for entries that are lost, misdirected, fail to enter into the processing system, or are processed, reported, or transmitted late or incorrectly or are lost for any reason including computer, telephone, paper transfer, human or other error; or for electronic, computer, or telephonic malfunction or error, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes, or inability to access any web site associated with this promotion, or process any action thereon.

6) INTERNET: Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this game or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this promotion. If, in the judges' opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of tampering with any portion of the game, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the promotion, the judges reserve the right to terminate the game and conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date of termination. Use of automated entry devices or programs is prohibited. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

7) WINNERS LIST: To receive the name of the winners, available after May 30, 2008, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to: HSBC Click to Win Sweepstakes Winners, P.O. Box 704, Sayreville, NJ 08871-0704. Requests received after June 30, 2008 will be disregarded. Residents of VT may omit return postage.
